The mission of the Soil Testing Lab is to provide accurate analytical services in a timely manner. With the support of research conducted by MSU faculty members, the Soil Testing Lab provides unbiased nutrient management recommendations. Our lab works closely with County Extension Agents to provide outreach to all Mississippi landowners concerned with improving soil productivity.

Preview Days are designed to highlight all aspects of student life on campus from academic possibilities and residence halls to student organizations and facilities. Registration is $10 per person and includes a t-shirt, lunch, and our famous homemade ice cream. Pre-registration is required, and spots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Preview Days are not designed for schools to bring a group of students with the exception of 2024 Transfer Preview Day. If your high school is interested in visiting MSU as a group, please contact our Campus Visit office at (662) 325-0539.

When signing up for an Orientation, there is a place to let us know if you need any special accommodations. You are also more than welcome to contact the Office of Orientation & Events at 662-325-2334 if you have a disability and require special accommodations. The Orientation staff team will work with the Disability Resource Center to provide assistance during the event.
Students who have submitted an application or have been admitted to the university can log into their applicant portal and use the cancel form located at the bottom of the page to withdraw their application.
For other changes to your application, such as change of address, please log in to the student’s application portal and submit the change of address request form.
All changes of majors for prospective students must be submitted through the major change request form which can be found in the student’s application portal. *Currently enrolled MSU students must contact their academic department to change their major.
You can find your Admissions Counselor or Recruiter here and search your state at the top to find your recruiter. Then you can select their photo to see their profile, contact information, and social media links.
No, immunization records may be submitted after you are admitted to MSU, but should be submitted at least 3 business days before Orientation (or when you plan to register for classes). For information on how to submit your forms, please see the Next Steps list.
